Find maximum and/or minimum value(s) to the expression in the toolbox window. You can change the Min and Max values of the interval, Max error and max iterations.
By pressing the "Help" button and then another one you get more help on that specific button.
If you press the button "Expand interval" the program tries to expand the selected interval until at least one minima or maxima is bracketed.
If you press the button "Split interval" the program tries to split the interval [Min, Max] into sub intervals each bracketing one max or min. The number of found intervals is shown in the field "Max max/min". The maximum number of such intervals is 20.
If you press "Find" the program tries to find the number of extremas given in the field "Max max/min" with a combined method of Newton-Raphson and bisecting.
